FREE whooping cough vaccine for new parents
You will be reminded by the community nurse or your baby doctor once the baby os born.
All members of the family are recommended to get the shot.
Medicare card holders are free of charge. Just schedule with your GP.
Community nurse does not provide the whooping cough vaccine service.
You need to schedule with your GP. Parents can have the vaccine as soon as possible.
Doctor advice that baby can have the whooping cough vaccine at 6 weeks old.
Vaccine given by the GP: BOOSTRIX
- Combined Diphtheria-Tetanus-acellular Pertussis (whooping cough) Vaccine
Inquire with the medical centre staff how much is the vaccine and doctors fee assuming I am not a medicare card holder (resident).
- Vaccine cost around $60 + doctors service fee (range from $30-$60)
